Prayer on the 22nd day of each month
Adorned with the splendor of Christ was for you paradise, saint Rita, May 22nd this year, on which the gates of the heavenly Jerusalem was opened for you. Also for us it was a blessed and beautiful day when you covered us with a charitable mantle of your care. We are happy to remember now thy blessed transition from this world to Paradise, because it has become for us the beginning of graces from heaven, we receive through your constant intercession. Let your care be for all of us cover shield from the blows of misfortune. Pray always for anyone who greets you and calls to the rescue.
Oh, our advocate in difficult cases, help the unfortunate, heal the sick, comfort the afflicted, defend Holy Church, protect the Pope and bless families. Also, we, on this day dedicated to you, greet you, holy Rita from hopeless cases. Pray for us, our Patroness of Cascia, obtain for us the grace of the wisdom of the cross and deeper understanding of the Mysteries of God. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Rita, my guide and advocate in difficult cases, please give me the patience to deal with those who aren’t as fortunate as I, who are not as intelligent as I, who do not understand me. I am often misunderstood, and some jump to conclusions about me before there is a chance to reason. I have never set out to hurt anyone, yet I’m the first to be hurt.
